It is wonderful to have you standing with us against human trafficking and modern slavery in Cambodia.
Already this year, a great deal has been achieved—and we see especially clearly that close, trusting work with families is the key to lasting and meaningful change.

WHY FAMILIES ARE AT RISK
Alongside the many other activities we have shared in previous newsletters, our team regularly visits families who are facing severe challenges and are therefore particularly vulnerable to human trafficking and exploitation.
In most cases, it is hardship that pushes parents or their children into the hands of criminals—sometimes knowingly, sometimes without fully understanding the risks involved.
Preventing this requires sustained awareness-raising,long-term educational work in schools and village groups, close cooperation with parents and community leaders, and, where needed, practical material support..

OUR COMMITMENT TO FAMILIES
Working closely with families is especially valuable when it comes to protecting children and young people. At the same time, this work is very demanding for our team, as the challenges families face are rarely simple or quickly resolved.
Often, multiple factors come together: the long-lasting effects of the Khmer Rouge period, poverty, limited access to education, domestic violence and abuse, as well as cultural and belief-related influences.
In such circumstances, hope can feel almost out of reach for many families. Creating change requires perseverance,, love,, time —and especially prayer .
This is exactly what we want to invest in these families.
In this month alone, our team has already carried out more than 40 family visits with households that are highly vulnerable to exploitation and human trafficking.
To do so, they travel over 1,200 kilometers every month..
In other newsletters, we have shared a lot about school supply kits and the positive impact they can have. But that is only one part of the picture. The other part is the time-intensive, relationship-based workour team carries out with great compassion and dedication alongside individual families..
For this reason, we would like to take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for our Cambodian team . Without their commitment—and without God’s help—this work would not be possible..
