NEXT STEP: MOVING FORWARD, STEP BY STEP

Im Einsatz gegen Ausbeutung!

For the past six months, we have been working in six different communities.
Our team has already built important relationships, getting to know more and more families and their situations. The work is beginning to bear fruit, and we now have the first larger projects lined up on our community “to-do” list.

We are extremely grateful — and pleasantly surprised — by how warmly our visits are received in each village. This is by no means a given. Time and again, we are overwhelmed by the openness and cooperation of villagers, teachers, and local leaders, who welcome us and work closely with us.

Without the active involvement of the communities, development is not possible.
God has opened doors for us and placed the right people by our side.

A few weeks ago, something very special happened in one of the villages, where many people work in the brick factories and some children attend school irregularly, or not at all.

The teacher at one of the schools told us how grateful he is that our team is coming to teach and encourage the children in his class.

Since we began visiting regularly, the children are participating more actively in lessons, focusing better on their education, and some students are now attending school consistently.

Seeing the children every week, we are already incredibly happy and grateful to be able to support them in their learning and encourage them for their future. But receiving such positive feedback after only a few weeks exceeded our expectations — it gives us even more energy to go all out for every child!

This has also inspired us to take the next big step as an organization across all communities.

Unfortunately, in every village, there are students who come to school without any basic school supplies. In some villages, as many as 90% of the children have nothing to write with. How can a child learn if they have nothing to write on or practice with? And how can anyone build a solid future without a basic education?

According to a UNICEF report from 2023 , fewer than 50% of students complete the 9th grade, and only 8–10% of 15-year-olds have even minimal basic literacy and numeracy skills. These numbers reflect the many challenges children face.
One key reason is that some families simply cannot afford the necessary school materials.

For this reason, we aim to provide approximately 700 children in our communities with the basic school supplies they need for the next school year.

We firmly believe that education, awareness, and the ability to overcome hardship are key to preventing and combating human trafficking and modern slavery.

Will you join us in making this goal a reality? A school package for one child for a year costs just $80 — a small investment that can make a huge difference in a child’s life.

We also have other projects planned this year aimed at supporting entire communities or individual families.
For example, we hope to soon begin building and installing biosand filters. Some families currently have no access to clean drinking water — let alone water safe for cooking. A filter like this would be life-changing for them.

One father shared with us that he no longer sends his children to school because he fears they might collapse on the way there. This had already happened to his daughter before, and the journey is simply too unsafe for the family.

We need your support here as well. A biosand filter can be used for a lifetime and is very easy to operate. The cost is only $65 per filter, a relatively small investment for such a profound impact on a family’s life.

Every community has its own unique challenges. Our task is to work together with the people to create sustainable change and to mobilize the necessary resources to make this possible.

As described above, we feel God’s guidance very clearly in our work.
We want to thank all the individuals who pray for this project and for the people in need here, taking time to intercede on their behalf.
We are also deeply grateful to every donor who contributes to this project — without your support and encouragement, none of this would be possible.
Thank you so much!

Finally, we are excited to announce the Germany visit of Katharina and Julius. From June 15 to August 30, they will be visiting various churches, supporters, and small groups.
