LATEST UPDATES ON OUR WORK

ACT EARLY, PROTECT SUSTAINABLY
Our third year working in the villages has begun, and as we look ahead to 2026, we do so with deep gratitude for all that has grown over the past year—and with hope for what lies ahead. This year brings new steps for us as an organization, and for several families in the villages we serve.

GROWING HOPE — A LOOK BACK AT 2025
2025 has been an eventful year, and with Christmas just around the corner, we have two wonderful reasons to celebrate—and to give thanks together with you and the people we serve.

EVERY ENCOUNTER MATTERS – INSIGHTS INTO OUR WORK WITH FAMILIES
It is wonderful to have you standing with us against human trafficking and modern slavery in Cambodia. Already this year, a great deal has been achieved—and we see especially clearly that close, trusting work with families is the key to lasting and meaningful change.

EDUCATION INSTEAD OF CHILD LABOR
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you – thanks to you, we have been able to give 725 children and young people access to school so far this year. Your regular donations and the fundraising campaigns on Betterplace in particular have enabled us to provide enough school kits this year.

TIDA´S STORY
Recently, we met Tida (name changed) . She is 7 years old and lives with her father and siblings in very modest conditions. Sadly, her mother has passed away.

EDUCATION PROTECTS
In the remote villages where we work, we see the same reality again and again: Children who cannot read or write even after several years in school.

BLESSINGS AND CHALLENGES
In our last newsletter, we shared a glimpse into the often very difficult situations many families face here in Cambodia. The reasons why some people in Cambodia continue to live under extremely challenging conditions — and why some even fall victim to modern slavery — are complex and interconnected.

EXTREME SITUATIONS. BETWEEN RAINY AND DRY SEASONS
It has not rained across Cambodia for over 5 months now.
The dry season causes many water holes and smaller rivers to dry up, and April is particularly hot.

VIOLENCE AND ABUSE
Looking back on the past year, we can be so grateful and happy about everything that has been made possible. We already wrote about this in our last newsletter.
Now, as we look ahead to the new year, we see a lot of work before us.

CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS TOGETHER - SHARING HOPE
We were able to conclude this incredible year with Christmas celebrations in all of these communities.
Each of these was our very first public gathering in the villages with a message of hope and faith.
At the beginning of the year, we had just selected the communities where we are now working.

OVER 1,000 CHILDREN EQUIPPED FOR SCHOOL!
Since most families in the communities where we work struggle to afford school supplies, we specifically raised donations to make this possible. This allowed us to participate in four school year-end ceremonies, helping to organize them and distribute over 750 complete school packages.

TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION
Our team had the opportunity during this time to meet with the key leaders of the villages and schools. These meetings were important to bring the village leaders closer together, so they could support one another more effectively, and to share our vision with them once again.
